For my first game, I played someone who hasn't been there in quite a while. Last time I played him, I won quite well, so I was confident in my ability to pull off a victory. He was missing a good chunk of his army, so the other Templar player ended up lending him about 750 points, including a Land Raider filled with Assault Terminators and a Chaplain. That shook me a little. He got to go first, and chose to deploy a squad of scouts on a building. I've never understood why he takes them, but I suppose they're moderately useful in objective missions. I chose not to deploy anything so that I could laugh in his face as he does absolutely nothing in his first turn.

First Turn:
Vanilla- He rolls a Land Raider and a combi-predator up on my left flank, deploying them so that the predator and a hill covered the Land Raider. The tac squad Rhino and the triple Las Predator roll in on the right. The Captain pods in with the second tactical squad, hoping to end up in the middle of a rock formation, but it scatters and ends up in the middle of a clear spot.

WOLVES!- I send my Long Fangs in, one squad climbing up into a building, while the other one with the Cyclone Wolf Guard moves into area terrain. I move my two lasbacks in so that they have a clear shot at the Combi-Pred. My basic Razorback with the Grey Hunters moves in to shoot at the Drop Pod Squad, along with one of the Plasma Squads and the Thunderwolves. My other Plasma Squad moves in beside the Long Fangs in the area terrain, while the Rhino Squad moves up behind it, gaining cover from the hill.

Just about everything in the center shoots at the tactical squad, causing some heavy casualties. The two Razorbacks shoot at the Predator, and, using spot lights to good effect, knock the Lascannon turret off the combi-Pred. The Cyclone Wolf Guard shakes the Rhino.

Second Turn:
Vanilla- None of his reserves come in.

The Land Raider moves forward, while the combi-Pred hides behind some rocks. The Rhino advances, and the Drop Pod Squad seeks cover, but fails the difficult terrain rolls.

The TriLas Predator kills a Grey Hunter in the squad in the area terrain. The scouts kill the sacrificial Wolf Guard in the Long Fang squad in the building. The DPS(Drop Pod Squad) attempts to run into cover, and once again fails.

Continued in a short while...
