New FAQ Part Two: Dark Angels

Deathwing is the new Bone-White
Here we go. This new FAQ has bumped the Dark Angels back up to a highly competitive army, with Deathwing overtaking Loganwing in power. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Ravenwing and Greenwing. While the FAQ helped them a bit, they still don't work very well.


Note: If I covered something in my previous post and it has the same effect, I won't list it.

p. 25 Narthecium/Reductor
The Apothecary now grants Feel No Pain. Prepare for a wave of TH/SS terminators with Feel No Pain. They're going to be very, very tough, taking about thirty-six bolter shots to kill one terminator. Ouch. Best way to deal with them is by using an weapon capable of causing Instant Death in combination with a Null Zone librarian. They're still going to be quite hard. Expect many, many more Deathwing armies.

p. 28 Cyclone Missile Launcher
Beyond the changes to the Black Templars, this also means that Dark Angels can take combined squads with the super cyclone in them. That means that they can have an effective well-rounded super squad capable of taking down pretty-much anything. If they don't have Feel No Pain, use torrent of fire, preferably from a distance with heavy bolters.

p. 33 Whirlwinds
They can now use both missiles, so no more hard decisions. Not that much different, though.

p. 35, 87, 88 Drop Pod
Now BS 4, so you can't ignore them anymore. Cool, that rhymes.

I expect to see a high volume of Deathwing armies now, but they still have the regular old small model count weakness.
