NOVA Open

No, I'm not paid to advertise
I'm thinking of going to the NOVA open in August if I can work out my schedule. For those of you who don't know what NOVA is, though that's doubtful, it's one of the most well-known and top-rated tournaments in the U.S. NOVA is held in the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia, so it's easy to get to for all you East Coasters.

There are 256 spots in the 40k tournament, with prizes for overall appearance, best painted model, best converted model, sportsmanship, tournament champion, being undefeated on the first day, renaissance man, and a raffle for over 60 prizes. Renaissance Man and Tournament Champion both get a ticket to the Vegas GT, though I'm doubtful I'll get that.

It's 2000 points, which is the points level I normally play, so that's good. All GW codices, including both the Witch Hunter PDF and the printed codex, are legal, but Forge World stuff is(fortunately) not allowed. Your army has to be painted to the regular three-color standard, as usual. In the interests of the prevention of chemical warfare, all gamers must come showered and wearing deodorant.

I'm going to be bringing my Vanilla Marines, with my regular old non-standard crazy list, though that is actually quite effective. They'll be painted up in the Rainbow Marine scheme, meaning I paint them in all different chapter schemes dependent on my mood. They're easy to pick out, especially because of my skill in painting badly. Trust me, I'm not joking.

Chapter Master Domus out.
